Old Beach Drive, located along Georgian Bay between Grey Road 1 and Balmy Beach Road, is being considered for major reconstruction due to aging infrastructure and community concerns. We want your input on how we move forward.

Why This Is Happening

Old Beach Drive is slated for reconstruction due to aging infrastructure. Combined with ongoing issues like road deterioration, pedestrian safety concerns, and limited fire suppression access, it’s time for a comprehensive solution.

Options Being Considered

We’re exploring several upgrades and service improvements:

Option	Details
Full Road Reconstruction	Rebuild Old Beach Drive and Washington Avenue, including stormwater systems and pavement upgrades.
Active Transportation Trail	Add a dedicated path for walking and cycling to enhance safety and recreation.
Municipal Watermain	Install a new watermain with fire hydrants.
Stormwater Management	Improve drainage using updated culverts, ditches, or urban-style storm systems.
Traffic Safety Enhancements	Options such as reconfigured intersections, pedestrian access near Balmy Beach Convenience Store, and potential one-way road configurations.
