In response to a community petition and long-standing requests, Georgian Bluffs Council has approved funding to bring a playground back to Kemble. The new play area will be located at the Kemble Athletic Fields, where there is enough room to provide safe play space, parking, seating, and tree planting.

The Township currently has three public playgrounds, located in Balmy Beach, Shallow Lake, and Kilsyth. Kemble has been without a playground for a number of years, after older equipment at the arena site was removed due to safety concerns. The Kemble Athletic Fields were identified as the most suitable location for a new playground, given space and long-term site certainty.

Council has set aside $250,000 in the 2025 budget for this project, with the goal of planning in 2025 and construction in 2026. The design will include accessible features, engineered wood fibre surfacing, parking, trails, benches, and shade trees.

We are now seeking your input on two possible design concepts for the new playground. Each concept offers a different approach to the play equipment and overall park experience. Your feedback will help shape the final decision and ensure the playground best meets the needs of the Kemble community.

Project budget: $250,000 (50% funded by the Government of Ontario CSRIF Grant)

Timeline: Planning and design in 2025, with construction and installation in 2026.
