Drainage upgrades are coming to the Village of Kemble. The Township of Georgian Bluffs is planning infrastructure improvements at the intersection of Kemble Rock Road and Concession 20.

This work is tentatively scheduled to start spring 2026 and be completed by fall of 2026, pending budget and Council approval. It includes new culverts, ditches, and stormwater systems. The Township is asking for your feedback to help guide the design and address long-standing drainage concerns in Kemble.

    The Township has retained Pearson Engineering Ltd. to complete the detailed design for this infrastructure upgrade.

    Goals of the Project:

    • Improve stormwater drainage

    • Replace aging infrastructure

    • Reduce erosion and flooding issues

    What’s Being Done

    Based on engineering studies and field assessments, the following work is proposed:

    ✅ Replace roadway and driveway culverts
    ✅ Install new stormwater catch basins and underground pipes
    ✅ Remove heavy vegetation from ditches
    ✅ Re-grade and re-shape ditches with rock protection
    ✅ Replace curbs, gutters, and asphalt shoulders
    ✅ Repave the asphalt road surface

    Budget:

    The Townhsip has budgeted $950,000 for this project.

    🗑️ Garbage and Recycling Collection:

    The Contractor will be responsible throughout construction to collect garbage from residents within limits of construction.

    🅿️ Driveway Access:

    Restrictions to driveway access will be limited as much as possible. Where unavoidable, the Contractor will be required to provide and maintain temporary parking.

    🚧 Traffic Interruptions:
    Temporary road closures will take place during phased construction. Detours will be in place, and local access will be maintained.

    🔇 Construction Hours:

    To mitigate impacts to local residents, construction will be limited to 7am to 7pm each day. No weekend or stat holiday work permitted. The Contractor will control dust on site and will ensure the construction site remains clean as much as possible.

    💡 Utilities:

    Minor impacts to utilities services are anticipated throughout construction. Where service disruptions are anticipated, notices will be issued to residents.

    🌳 Tree Removals:

    Tree removals on site will be limited as much as possible. No tree removals will be completed on private property. It is the goal of the Township to maintain trees on-site.
